The Start

Or, knowing when to stay in what lane.

The Race is on… Are you ready? Not me, I’d rather sleep in, thanks.

I’m having second thoughts on what programs I use for image making and processing on the iPhone. I tried using the Lightroom Mobile app. I have the program available because of my Adobe subscription for Photoshop. The mobile app is a capable program but I think it’s overkill for what I’m trying to do, and that, frankly, causes a mess trying to manage images and eats up memory on the phone. I’ve played with the Adobe Indigo app, it’s a test app for computational photography, and it’s slow and makes my phone hot. I’m sure it makes better pics, but is that really the point of using the phone? Unfortunately, the Hipstamatic app seems to choke on the raw files that the phone makes… what to do. I don’t really want to pay a monthly or annual fee for the program so Visco cam is out, and I will probably drop the other filter app I have when the year comes around again. Maybe doing raw files on the phone is the crux, do I really need the raw files… probably not. The setting tweaks my need to gain the best quality, but I think in reflection, it’s causing too many problems. Jpeg it is for the phone, back to basics.

With that, I know there are other apps that are free or reasonable, like Snapseed, that I should give another look at.
