While waiting for E’s flight to arrive, I wander and let my mind and eye roam. It’s like play and a quiet moment all wrapped up in one.

This way of photographing reminds me of a quote from photographer Aaron Siskind “I stand still or move slowly, feeling things like the impulse of shapes, the direction of lines, the quality of surfaces. I frame with my eye (sometimes with my hands) as the ground glass would frame. Nothing that one could reasonably call thinking is taking place at this stage. The condition is total absorption; the decision (a picture) is spontaneous.”
I try not to photograph when I’m with someone else. It’s a quiet, contemplative process where my focus is totally on one thing. E has learned to just let me be till I’m done finding the image.
