The Reading Room

Not much “popular” reading going on here. Not too comfy either. . . . . .   Comfy was the first thing to go…

I’m working on a series of images with the idea of Evidence.  What is the visual evidence of what we just went through and are still dealing with.  The empty spaces, the signage, the trash, you get it?… all that shit left behind and not so left behind.

I saw this on a college campus tour at Purdue Univ.  I was really strange going through the college search last year with my #2, basically no visits or zombie Apokolips tours(ie not a soul in sight).  This year it a bit better, more people on campus but the insides of the building look like there was a garage sale going on.

I stand still or move slowly, feeling things like the impulse of shapes, the direction of lines, the quality of surfaces. I frame with my eye (sometimes with my hands) as the ground glass would frame. Nothing that one could reasonably call thinking is taking place at this stage. The condition is total absorption; the decision (a picture!) is spontaneous. – Aaron Siskind, 1955
