What happened to then?
We passed then.
When?
Just now. We’re at now now.

This image is from a visit Ryan and I had to Dayton this last summer to visit with my high school roommate.  Ryan is studying mechanical engineering in college and has expressed interest in flying and possibly joining the Air Force.  Well… my roommate, Ross, went to the Air Force Academy and since retiring does all sorts of things that relate to flying and Engineering.  Perfect person for Ryan to talk too. And He got to fly to boot.

A few more image from his flight. I sat in the back the whole time…

Or ride for the adventure.
Ryan’s instructor for the flight was also an office in the Air Force.  It was really wonderful for Ryan to hear from those these two experienced Air Force officers.  I’m very grateful to Ross and Mike for sharing so much.

Ryan was guided through a “pattern” to do his own touch and go landing after Mike showed him once.  Ry did a great job.

I stand still or move slowly, feeling things like the impulse of shapes, the direction of lines, the quality of surfaces. I frame with my eye (sometimes with my hands) as the ground glass would frame. Nothing that one could reasonably call thinking is taking place at this stage. The condition is total absorption; the decision (a picture!) is spontaneous. – Aaron Siskind, 1955
