More school visits. This is from VU’s Center for the Arts, it’s one of the practice rooms for the orchestra.  This building houses all the arts at VU, including the photography dept.  Nice digs….

When I attended VU in the 80s, my home base for photography was in Baldwin Hall on the old campus.  This was a turn-of-the-century building (turn of the previous century) that was a fantastic space to be creative in.  It was a well broken-in art building that was fantastic to call home base.  I’m sure after 25 years the VUCA is just starting to get a little of that vibe.

I stand still or move slowly, feeling things like the impulse of shapes, the direction of lines, the quality of surfaces. I frame with my eye (sometimes with my hands) as the ground glass would frame. Nothing that one could reasonably call thinking is taking place at this stage. The condition is total absorption; the decision (a picture!) is spontaneous. – Aaron Siskind, 1955
